Do Hard Things

Dwight, Colin and Liam went to the Do Hard Things conference a couple of weeks ago. They were blessed by a great message, worship and learning. Colin and Liam each purchased a book and had them signed by Brett Harris.

Now to do those hard things and show that young people can be held up to high expectations and do amazing things!

The Do Hard Things Tour invites you to explore some radical questions:

• Is it possible that even though teens today have more freedom than any other generation in history, we're actually missing out on some of the best years of our lives?

• Is it possible that what our culture says about the purpose and potential of the teen years is a lie, and that we are its victims?
•
• Is it possible that our teen years give us a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for huge accomplishments -- as individuals and as a generation?
•
• And finally, what would our lives look like if we set out on a different path entirely -- a path that required more effort but promised a lot more reward?
•
We describe that alternative path with three simple words: Do Hard Things.

To Eat Them, or Not to Eat Them

Liam managed to catch a couple of quail in hopes of trying them out for dinner. Having only caught two birds - which is definitely not enough to feed our family - Liam graciously decided to set them free.

Chameleon, Chameleon

Colin has been all about chameleons lately, so we’ve been making fairly regular visits to Petco to see the chameleons. He’s also started a notebook with chameleon facts that he’s looked up online. He now knows how to handle them, what they eat, the environment that they thrive in, where they live in nature (if he hasn’t already, he may hit you up to help him purchase air fare to South America to see them “in the wild”), and more. Yes, Colin is all about chameleons at the moment!

School at Starbucks

We’ve had a great week of school, so I thought it would be fun and a nice change to get everyone out of the house and do a little school somewhere else. We took a few things the boys are working on and enjoyed the cooler weather and our favorite treats from Starbucks. We enjoyed it so much that this may become part of our weekly routine.
